Cherokee's large premium tracking room has a unique acoustic design and accommodates up to 35 musicians. The 5 isolation areas are versatile and can be configured to meet specific needs. The control room features an 80-input API Legacy Plus console equipped with channel dynamics, 12 aux sends per channel, 4 onboard direct modules, a stereo buss compressor and 3 stereo busses assignable to a grand master. Moving fader and switch automation by API Mix Plus. All gain stages are discrete amplifiers, producing an extremely high fidelity signal path. The main monitors are George Augspurger design with components by JBL and amplifiers by Q.S.C.. The room offers lock-to-picture scoring and mix capabilities and accommodates all recording formats. The tracking room also contains a Yamaha C7 Conservatory grand piano.

The Robb brothers, owners of Cherokee Studios, have a 35-year history in the entertainment industry. Starting their musical careers in the 1960's the Robbs became stars of "Where the Action Is," an ABC network television show hosted and produced by Dick Clark.

In the early 1970's they founded Cherokee Studios on their ranch in Chatsworth, California. Shortly thereafter, the studio produced its first gold album, "Pretzel Logic," by Steely Dan. In 1975, the brothers purchased M.G.M. Recording Studios and renamed it Cherokee Studios.

Cherokee can boast well over 200 gold and platinum albums, countless major motion picture scores and soundtracks, and an impressive client list that reads like a who's who of American music. The studio is a world-renowned recording facility located one block North of the hip and trendy Melrose shopping district on Fairfax Avenue in the heart Hollywood.

Comprised of five studios ranging in technology from the highest quality vintage analog to the cutting edge of digital technology, Cherokee offers virtually every format of analog and digital recording, 5.1 surround mixing, lock to picture scoring, audio mixing for film and video, and moving fader automation in every room. Cherokee is proud to have two Trident A-Range Consoles, a 96 input SSL 4000G+, a dedicated Pro Tools room with the Control 24 board, and a new eighty input API Legacy Plus board. Cherokee also boasts one of the largest vintage tube microphone collections in the industry.

With an old-school laid-back vibe, excellent client services, and 24-hour technical support, the Cherokee Legend shines into the new millennium.
